Our Vision
At Care is There, our vision is that:
“All older adults and their loved ones have the knowledge and local support to choose and implement a life they love.”
We accomplish that for you in several ways, depending on what you want:
- Do it for you
- Do it with you
- Teach you to do it
Do it For You
In some cases, we can do things for you – we can pay your bills for you, we can make appointments for you, we can recommend solutions and implement them for you.
Do it With You
In many cases, we work alongside you to create a life you love. We accompany you to appointments, we help you interview home care workers, we help you handle bills and paperwork, and we present options from which you can choose.
Teach You to Do it
If you would like to do it yourself, we can often teach you how to do it! We have a library of online courses designed just for that, or you can purchase a one-on-one coaching session with us.
Our Approach
We start by listening to what the whole family wants – often an elderly loved one wants independence and a familiar environment near people they love, and caregivers want the peace of mind of knowing their loved ones are safe. We brainstorm with you to develop creative solutions that meet everyone’s needs. Then we actively implement those solutions, either by performing the services ourselves or by bringing in specialized service providers. No two plans are alike, and all plans evolve over time.
We strive to give you access to all the services in the community in a way that is cost effective and convenient. If we can do the work best ourselves, we do so. If there is a specialist who has more expertise or can offer the service at a lower cost, we arrange an introduction to that specialist and integrate them into the care team.
Does your elderly parent protest that they “don’t need help?” We build a relationship with them based on respect for their choices and knowledge of their strengths. When they meet us in person they realize we are there to empower their independence and will usually agree to give us a try! Over time our clients integrate us into their lives and are grateful for our presence.
If your loved one is reluctant to accept help, our Just in Case Service can be the first step toward creating a relationship that will grow over time.
Our Vision for Our Team
Our vision for our team is that:
“We create a joyful, supportive, encouraging environment where every team member, community partner, client, and client loved-one knows themselves to be a miracle worker.”
As we support our clients in obtaining the most effective solutions and the very best care, our emphasis is on collaboration. If our client and/or their support system is stressed or struggling, we seek to understand, to empathize, to heal, and to create a new approach that meets everyone’s needs. We want everyone in the care circle to know their value and the significance of their contribution, and to be more fulfilled as a result of their involvement.
