Elissa has a leadership background in the non-profit sector including two United Way organizations, an independent school, wildlife hospital, free clinic, child advocacy center, library, and even a professional orchestra.
When she and her husband moved from the Shenandoah Valley to Indiana to help her aging in-laws, she experienced first hand the challenges and joys of caring for the elderly. From running everyday errands, shopping, hair stylists, doctors’ appointments, and patient advocacy, Elissa walked beside her beloved family members helping them live their lives with dignity.
Elissa and her husband returned the Staunton 7 years ago and live with 2 spoiled dogs and cats. She enjoys her work with dog rescue groups, bringing her Indiana grandchildren to the Virginia mountains, and service through Rotary International.
Her recent changes in lifestyle now allow her to take the personal experience of elder caring and provide it to others. She feels it’s a privilege and honor to help the generation who gave so much for their community.
