Joe McDonald draws on a wealth of experience in the financial industry to provide Care is There clients with assistance in their daily money and financial management. He served as the financial leader for a variety of organizations, both profit and nonprofit, worked for the King of Beers in Tampa and the Free Clinic in Harrisonburg, and was a restaurateur, farmer, horseman, and dog trainer.
While in Tampa, he even became close with two of the Budweiser Clydesdales!
Joe’s personal health care challenges have given him insights into navigating the provider network, and its impact on personal financial well-being. In addition, he and his wife Elissa returned to his home town in Indiana to assist in the care of his aging mother and father. This first-hand experience working with seniors has given him a deep understanding of the compassion and dedication necessary to help seniors retain their dignity and independence. With education and personal experiences to support his work, he offers strong, sound financial support to our clients.
When the couple returned to the Shenandoah Valley, they continued their mission of caring for rescued geriatric Labrador retrievers, helped their four grandsons build their identities – the eldest will attend Joe’s alma mater, Ball State University, building a legacy there. They also work together at Care is There to help empower the aging community and their families.
