Rebekah Carter has lived in the Shenandoah Valley since the age of five. Growing up in a family of 15 with her parents and 12 siblings, she learned some essentials of humanity: compassion, generosity, honesty, humility, service and good humor.
Rebekah has long had a passion for helping others. She has worked with seniors in numerous capacities over the years, and after working for a time in hospital administration at Augusta Health, Rebekah joined Care is There to further her service to the elderly and brighten their days.
During her teenage years, Rebekah’s mom became a caretaker to a dear family friend living with dementia, and Rebekah assisted her mom in that role. It was then that she realized how crucial it is for the elderly to have someone who is trustworthy advocating on their behalf.
12 years ago, Rebekah married her husband, Eddie, who is a deputy sheriff. They live in Staunton with their three children. Rebekah is a longtime musician, who plays the keyboard and piano with her singing family. She’s also a lover of fitness and an avid gardener.
