Since a young age, Sharon Ford has enjoyed spending time with the aging and elderly in her community. She spent time in her youth volunteering at the respite program her mother, Paula Ford, managed, assisting those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
As she grew up, Sharon pursued other passions. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Animal and Poultry Sciences, finding joy in working with animals. She also worked in retail for over eight years, giving her plenty of experience with interpersonal communication and managing unexpected situations. But recently she’s rediscovered her love of helping the elderly. Providing that little bit of extra help to one older woman reminded her of how much she enjoys spending time with those who come before us—and they, in turn, show her how much she is loved.
Born and raised in Shenandoah Valley, Sharon currently lives with her three siblings and enjoys reading, singing, and taking care of her pets. She is excited to join the Care is There team. Following in the footsteps of her mother, she hopes to provide that little bit of extra help—and so much more—to Care is There’s clients as an Executive Assistant.
