What geographical areas do you serve?
We serve central Virginia (Charlottesville and the surrounding counties, Staunton and Augusta County, and Harrisonburg and Rockingham county).
How do you differ from a companion agency or a home health agency?
Home health and companion agencies are specialized services that we often use with our clients. At Care is There we manage areas of life that these agencies don’t cover. We are your one-stop-shop for whatever your loved one needs. View our services.
How do I know if I need a care manager?
You need a care manager if: (1) You do not live near the person you are caring for, or you travel, or you have competing family or career responsibilities, or (2) You want expert advice about local options and resources, or (3) The person you are caring for struggles with several aspects of life: attending doctor’s appointments, handling mail and bills, maintaining their home, etc. Read more.
How do you charge for your services?
We charge by the hour for work we do ourselves, with a one hour minimum. Read about our pricing.
Does insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid pay for your services?
Medicare and Medicaid do not pay for our services, but some long term insurance policies do pay. Read about our pricing.
Is there a contract?
We have a simple contract that outlines our services and rates, but it does not bind you to a certain number of hours of services.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
We are bonded and insured. Care coordination does not require a license, but in services where licenses are required (skilled nursing, personal care, etc.) we utilize licensed agencies.
Do you do background checks on your employees?
Yes, every employee has been given a criminal background check, a reference check, a tuberculosis test and a drug test.
What if my loved one doesn’t want help?
Most people don’t like to think of themselves as “needing help.” At Care is There we are your loved one’s champion and advocate. During our free consultation we seek to establish a bond of trust and respect that helps them partner with us for their own independence.
