Dr. David Hilfiker, a  retired physician, sees his own Alzheimer’s disease as an “adventure” which he shares in his blog: “Watching the Lights go Out.” Â
Dr. Hilifiker says: “This will, I hope, not be a sugarcoating of these next years. I certainly wish I did not have Alzheimer’s and would sacrifice a lot to be rid of it. But that’s not one of the possibilities. So I will welcome this period of my life. In fact and unbelievably, these months so far have been one of the happiest periods in my life.”
