On December 31, 2013 the Charlottesville Virginia senior citizen care community lost a bright light – Jaclyn Tahboub.
Jackie passed away soon after giving birth to her second son, 1 lb 15oz Ramzey Shareef Tahboub who is doing well. She also leaves behind a two year old son Laith, and her devoted husband Shareef Tahboub. She was 35 years old.
Jackie was gracious, generous, and funny. Â As part of the Tahboub family that owns and operates the Rosewood Village assisted living and memory care communities, she brought joy to her senior citizen residents and all of us who had the privilege of working with her.
In November of 2012 I visited Jackie and Shareef on the day when Jackie shaved her head to bring awareness to the cancer that had afflicted her brother. Â As was typical of Jackie and her family, the day was celebratory. Â The article I wrote about that day describes her exemplary character and contains photos and a video from that event. You can read the article about Jaclyn Tahboub at this link.
Memorial contributions in Jaclyn’s honor may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901, www.alz.org/cwva, or to the University of Virginia NICU, PO Box 800773, Charlottesville, VA, 22908. Checks should be made out to the UVA Fund with ‘NICU, In memory of Jackie Tahboub’ in the memo line. For questions, please call 434.924.8643. Visit www.uvachildrens.org.
Jackie, we will miss you terribly.
We have been friends of the Tahboub family for 35 years both personally and professionally and share in their sorrow over the sudden loss of Jaclyn. It was nice to read this tribute to her life and the link showing her wonderful spirit and love for family. Thank you!
