Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS) is making it easy to learn about assistance programs by bringing its Mobile Information Station to various places in the local community.
Mobile Information Stations – or MIS for short – are “moving Q&A offices” that bring staff members who can answer questions about programs available in the area, help determine eligibility for these programs and aid in the application process. There are a variety of programs with which they can help, including: SNAP and nutrition programs; transportation services; heating and cooling assistance; and Medicare prescription drug plans.
Some of the programs depend on financial status – so if you are interested in joining a program bring your social security number, Medicare and health insurance information, and financial information (bank statements, monthly income statements) on hand.
Here are the scheduled dates and locations for 2014.
