If your client or loved one has low vision you should know about these two Charlottesville-based service providers that can help.
Suzanne Burch, of Vision Solutions, makes house calls to demonstrate devices for low vision. She works in partnership with Dr. Stephen Record of Drs. Record and Record Optometrists. In addition to his traditional eye care practice, Dr. Record provides specialized services to clients with low vision.
As a geriatric care manager I’ve had many clients with macular degeneration and other forms of low vision and I know assistive devices can help. So I asked Suzanne and Dr. Record to demonstrate these ingenious devices for our video camera. Be sure to catch the portable magnifier that changes text colors for better contrast and takes snapshots of objects and documents!
Forward this to anyone who is suffering from low vision and may not know about the technologies that are available. You can contact Suzanne Burch of Vision Solutions at 434.295.1050; she can make referrals to Dr. Record. To see Dr. Record for traditional eye care, call 434.978.4090 (Sachem Place office) or 434.975.2420 (Pantops office.)
